This is a slight departure for me. This is just a painting of an Eastern White Pine tree. This tree exists out the window of a place I went to for physical therapy. As I looked at it it drew me in and made me think how nice it is to see a white pine tree that is alone and has full access to the sun - alowing it to grow along more normal lines. In fact, this tree has close neighbors and the compostion is made by moving real things to where I wanted them. The time I chose to photograph it, was a rainy day. I took other photos from other sides and in different light - I kept coming back to the rainy one. the rain made the colors look more saturated and also alowed me to paint looser than I normally paint.
