This painting is, in fact, a painting of my wife's (Charlotte's) face. It is not, however, a portrait of my wife. If it was I would have chosen to do it differently. This is a painting using her face to show the effects of the very harsh sunlight of early spring, on a human face. I could have used my own face but I am trying to branch out and get away from face paintings that use my own image as the tool.
